Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."

Writing my Psalm.

Every Sunday night, Reagan and I attend a couple's bible study with people from our church (I need to get a pic of this sweet group soon).  Let me tell you something... the first night we came to this group, it felt like a fit.  The people are so genuine and welcoming and I feel like I have already made such great connections with some of the ladies (which makes me happy since I am looking/trying to make more deep relationships with women).  I love when you walk into a group and feel like you have known them for a long time... this is how this group feels! It definitely put my anxiety at rest a little and allowed me to breathe... finding a church and then finding a group that fits is a hard task, but I think we have accomplished what seemed "impossible" when we first moved here!! WOOHOO for Team Farish!

Anyways (I digress... just a little), each Sunday night we all eat dinner together as a group and then we get into our Bible study time and that is usually started with worship (to get our minds and hearts in the right place).  Though, tonight we were thrown a curveball... little Miss OCD/planner lady was a little worried and taken aback by this. Our leader had handed us a blank sheet of white paper... which made my anxiety rise just a little, I had no idea what he was going to make us do! He then told us that instead of singing we would be writing our own Psalm to the Lord and then sharing it with the group if we wanted to... sharing it with the group--Are you serious?!!  I was a little nervous and wondered what in the world I would write, but eventually the words came to mind (PTL).
Honestly, I loved being able to praise and thank God through my own words for all He has done.  Sometimes, I neglect just sitting and reflecting and letting God know how much He means to me.  This activity forced urged me to express my thoughts in a new way and I liked it!  It is so great to sing praises to God for all He has done and will do.

When it came to share time, I did not think anyone would share their Psalm that they wrote (well I take that back, I knew some people would share, like my sweet and talkative hubby) but almost everyone in our group shared.. even little old nervous me, which was so awesome!  I loved hearing everyone's praises and they were all written so well with the little time we had.  I think the best thing about this activity is that the words were genuine and from the heart, and lets be real -- that is all God wants!

So, all in all Bible study was a success tonight and I give great props to our leaders for coming up with this great opening activity.  It definitely set the mood for the rest of the night and I loved it. :)

My challenge to you (Fellow blog readers)... Write your own Psalm to God.  Express your love, gratitude and praises to Him.  It does not have to be anything elaborate... Jesus just wants to hear from you! In the end, I promise you will love it and the reflection/journaling time is good for the soul!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Oh, and have a wonderful Spring Break! Mine is filled with very minimal plans (relaxation is at the top of my list)... other than studying for my certification test that is.

Lord, thank you for the opportunity of being able to reflect and expose my heart and the thankfulness and love I have for You.  It was a wonderful way to end the weekend... praising Your name!

Truth.

My God is always present.  He never leaves my side.  He walks with me daily.  He Loves me no matter what. He does not judge.  He knows my hearts desires even when I do not.  These are some of the things I love the most about my God.  Sometimes, it is hard for me to believe that even through all my sin, worry, and little faith at times God loves me no matter what... is that not an incredible thing?! Seriously, without God's Grace I do not know where I would be.

This morning, I was reading the Jesus Calling Devotional and this is what I read:
"I am constantly communicating with you. To find Me and hear My voice, you must seek Me above all else. When you are determined to get your own way, you blot Me out of your consciousness. Instead of single-mindedly pursuing some goal, talk with Me about it. Let the Light of My Presence shine on this pursuit, so that you can see it from My perspective. If the goal fits into My plans for you, I will help you reach it. If it is contrary to My will for you, I will gradually change the desire of your heart. Seek Me first and foremost; then the rest of your life will fall into place, piece by piece."

I definitely needed to read this entry this morning and be reminded of this Truth. God knows the plans for our lives better than we ever will. Trust and Obey Him.  That last sentence is sometimes so hard for me to do... TRUST and OBEY.  It is scary and full of risks, but I have to remind myself daily Jesus only wants what is best for me... that only brings happiness to my heart not fear.
This devotion just brings me extreme peace and comfort. Especially with all the things I have been in prayer for in life lately.  I need to constantly remind myself that the Lord is always with me and desires only what is best for me. When I rest in that truth I feel that all the pieces of life will slowly fall into place.

"Thank you Lord for taking care of me daily and wanting what is best for me.  Help me to rely on You alone and listen and follow the plans You have for my life."

Rampage!

Hockey anyone??  Tonight we got to see our very first Rampage Hockey game of the season.  I had never been to a hockey game before and Reagan had when he was little... so it was nice to have the experience together and do something different for our date night!

Let me tell you though, those hockey fans are intense!  They were screaming and chanting all night long.  The game was fun, but I will never be as intense as some of the fans we sat by.  To each their own :) I was secretly hoping for a fight to break out on the ice... that could have definitely gotten a few loud and obnoxious cheers from me and the hubs!! ;)

We enjoyed spending time with each other tonight and that is all that counts! We can now say we have been to a hockey game together and enjoyed it! Thank you to my sweet student for giving me the tickets as a gift... great date night with my hubby!  Beyond grateful for sweet students and their wonderful parents! :)

We ended the night coming home and watching The Voice since Reagan was out of town on Monday night (it's one of our new favorite TV shows) -- way better than American Idol in our opinion!  Now, Saturday Night Live is currently on and my husband is laughing uncontrollably... just love that man and his contagious laugh!

Goodnight to all! Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday.

Tonight when I asked for a picture my sweet hubs sighed  smiled, and took a great pic to document the night. Deep down, he knows I am trying to get better at documenting all the new and fun things we are doing together so he lovingly goes along with me and my picture craziness! Love that man and how much he loves me!!

Go Spurs Go!

Reagan and I started the weekend out great last night!  It was so nice to have a night out with him since he has been gone so much lately... WORK. STOP CONSUMING His LIFE! Ok thanks.
Any who, my mom and dad invited us to go with them to the Spurs game last night since we have not been to a game this season! We jumped at the opportunity and had incredible seats! We were sitting in company seats that my dad does a lot of business with and we were 7 rows up from the floor.  The seats were amazing and I felt like we were in the game.  Literally.  I have never had seats that good... and I could see everything so that was definitely a bonus too!

It was so much fun to just have a relaxed night with my parents and cheer on our fellow Spurs!  They played great last night and that was a definite plus!  Oh... and to top off the night.  We had an amazing Spurs fan sitting in front of us!  He was a hoot the whole night and kept making off the wall comments about the other team and their crummy players.  He had us all rolling in laughter-- it was like he had practiced the lines he was yelling out to the other team... and he was sober might I add.  Gave a different flare to the game and definitely had us laughing and cheering even louder when our Spurs made incredible plays!

Love going to sporting events with my man.  It is just fun and definitely a change of scenery for our Friday nights!  Tonight we are headed to our first Rampage game ever.  I am not big on hockey, but we heard the games are a blast and one of my sweet students gave me the tickets!  So, here is to new experiences, lots of laughs, and having another fun night with my man!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and enjoying this incredible weather we are having.. at least in Texas!

Enjoy your loved ones and make sure you laugh this weekend :)

My and my sweet hubby at the Spurs game! We had an incredible time! Such a fun way to spend a Friday night!!
