Studying and a Spurs Date!

Studying never gets excitement at our house. EVER. Especially right now.  I have been studying diligently for my certification test on April 2nd (Dear Lord please let me pass!!!), and Reagan is stressed beyond the max trying to figure out how to write a paper for his Greek Seminary class that is 30% of his grade... YIKES!!!  As I type, he is sitting at the kitchen table in front of his computer yelling and pounding his fists because the seminary program for documentation is not working and part of his paper is due tomorrow.... procrastination at its finest! I would never make it in Seminary, the stress alone would kill me literally.  I just pray that Reagan's computer makes it till tomorrow because he is about to throw it out the window.  Everyone say a prayer for me Reagan.

So since there is no excitement when it comes to studying, there is definitely excitement when it comes to a Spurs game and spending time with my lovely dad and brothers!
On Sunday nights we usually have Couples Bible study, but since Reagan's stress is through the roof right now we opted out of Bible study tonight so he could solely focus on his paper and progress could be made.
Well, since I was diligent today with what I needed to get done (Studying and all) my dad called me and said that he had 4 tickets to the Spurs game and wanted to take me.  I was hesitant to go.  I knew Reagan needed moral support with his paper, a good home cooked dinner and I could have studied some more until my eyes popped out... but then one line my dad said was like a dagger to the heart.  When I was giving him all the reasons I shouldn't go he said, "Come on, it will be like old times! I am going to take you and your brothers and we will have a blast.  It will be fun!"  When he said those three little things I couldn't say no.  I love spending time with those sweet men.  So I decided to go, Reagan approved and everything else got put on hold for the night!
I had a wonderful evening with my dad and two brothers.  We had country music blasting the whole way there and lots of laughter.  We had a fabulous dinner, awesome seats, lots of loving on each other and we were making sweet memories along the way -- what could be better?! Nothing. Nothing at all.

I must say thank you to my husband for letting me go tonight and have fun while he studied.  I know he was jealous that I was cheering on our Spurs and he was screaming at a computer screen :)
I love my family. always have and always will. they are what makes life that much sweeter and I definitely do not know what I would do without them.  Thank you for a fabulous time tonight guys, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to get to spend the night with three handsome men.

Without any further waiting... here are my top 2 pictures from the night.  So blessed to have the love of these men!!

The first man who stole my heart.  I will always have a special love and appreciation for my dad. Love him to the moon and back.  He is truly one of my best friends.

What a cute family (me, my youngest brother- Peyton, my middle brother- Hunter, and our amazing Dad)... We missed you Mom! Thank you Dad for taking us all on such a wonderful and fun "date."  We love you so much and are so blessed to have you in our lives; you are such an inspiration and role model to us all!

"Count your blessings each day and always love and cherish those you are with."

St. Patty's Day!

Every year since Reagan and I have been together he has always had a love for St. Patty's day.  Partly because he is Irish and I think the other part has to do with the holiday being the day after his birthday.  Anyways, every year (since he turned 21) when March rolls around he always tells me that he has to get his green beer for the year! But, shhhh don't tell anyone... he may not like that I am revealing his yearly tradition with y'all! I laugh, but honestly it has turned into a tradition with him and his brother (as long as they are in the same town on St. Patty's).  So, Saturday night after dinner Jon (Reagan's brother) and Reagan convinced me to go out and get a green beer with them.  First off, I am not a big beer fan, but I thought what the heck... this is Jon's last night and we might as well all go out and have fun together.  So we headed to an Irish pub here in San Antonio.  Let me tell you something, I have never seen so many kilts in my life! There was a dj and people singing really bad karaoke. Haha. I really did enjoy myself... it was fun to hang out and just enjoy each others company and see those two boys happy because they got their green beer for the year! Haha.

Reagan and his brother, Jon.  They claim this is the best picture they have ever taken together!  Love these guys bunches!

Me and my sweet hubby on St. Patty's Day!

How do you celebrate St. Patty's day??

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and spent lots of time with friends and family.

I love him.

Today is my sweet hubby's birthday.  I do not know what I would do without that man.  He is such a wonderful man who loves God, loves serving me and works hard for our family.  What more could a wife ask for?! Absolutely nothing.  I love that we have been celebrating birthday's together since I was a junior and he was a senior in high school! That is a long time, but I would not have it any other way! I think over the years, I have grown to love him more than I ever thought my heart could love.  He truly is my best friend and I am grateful to spend each day with him by his side.  We may not have good days every day, but we cherish the moments that make our love grow even stronger for one other.

This will be the first birthday since high school that we have been back in San Antonio! Woohoo! That means we will be celebrating with family tonight!  In the past, if our families have been able to they have traveled up to see us on our birthday's but this is so much more special...we are all in the same place!

This week I told Reagan that we would do whatever he wanted to do on Friday for his birthday. He told me that the first thing he wanted to do was take a day off from work.  He has been working so hard lately, so I do not blame him one bit for wanting a day of rest!  He also said he wanted to get some phone thing installed for his truck... so I told him have at it and he also had to renew his license... he sure is growing up! LOL.
Lunch: spicy chick-fil-a sandwich... no brainer-- I think he could eat this everyday!
My little surprise to him while he was away doing his much needed morning errands: cleaned the whole house (which I kinda neglected this week...OOPS!) and washed his laundry... that would definitely make me smile if my "chores" were done for me on my birthday! :)
This afternoon: we are headed to the gym to workout (he said he needed to get a workout in on his birthday... understandable I guess?!)  Then we are headed out to the mall to shop for him! My birthday present to him.  He wants some new work shirts and brown cowboy boots!
Dinner: PF Changs with the Fam! YUM! This is one of his favorite restaurants so tonight should definitely be a good time!

One thing I love about birthday's... going all out and celebrating the person you love! I definitely believe they should be the special one for the day and everything gets to go their way! Birthday's are very special to me... it means you have another year to celebrate life and make sweet memories with the ones you love!

So, today I am grateful that we are celebrating my wonderfully loving hubby and his 24 years of life! I love this man to the moon and back and I cannot think of a better way to spend a Friday!

Happy birthday babe!

What a handsome man! I am one lucky girl to have married such a cutie! I LOVE you!

Ps. More pics of today and tonight to come... hope I can hold true to my promise! I just get so wrapped up in the celebration and I forget! I will try hard to remember tonight! :)

**Update: I made sure I got at least a couple pics during the birthday dinner! We had a blast and really enjoyed being with our families and celebrating with them!

Happy birthday to my sweet hubs! One of his favorite desserts: CHOCOLATE!

Always have to get a picture together on our birthday's! Love how this one turned out!!!

Writing my Psalm.

Every Sunday night, Reagan and I attend a couple's bible study with people from our church (I need to get a pic of this sweet group soon).  Let me tell you something... the first night we came to this group, it felt like a fit.  The people are so genuine and welcoming and I feel like I have already made such great connections with some of the ladies (which makes me happy since I am looking/trying to make more deep relationships with women).  I love when you walk into a group and feel like you have known them for a long time... this is how this group feels! It definitely put my anxiety at rest a little and allowed me to breathe... finding a church and then finding a group that fits is a hard task, but I think we have accomplished what seemed "impossible" when we first moved here!! WOOHOO for Team Farish!

Anyways (I digress... just a little), each Sunday night we all eat dinner together as a group and then we get into our Bible study time and that is usually started with worship (to get our minds and hearts in the right place).  Though, tonight we were thrown a curveball... little Miss OCD/planner lady was a little worried and taken aback by this. Our leader had handed us a blank sheet of white paper... which made my anxiety rise just a little, I had no idea what he was going to make us do! He then told us that instead of singing we would be writing our own Psalm to the Lord and then sharing it with the group if we wanted to... sharing it with the group--Are you serious?!!  I was a little nervous and wondered what in the world I would write, but eventually the words came to mind (PTL).
Honestly, I loved being able to praise and thank God through my own words for all He has done.  Sometimes, I neglect just sitting and reflecting and letting God know how much He means to me.  This activity forced urged me to express my thoughts in a new way and I liked it!  It is so great to sing praises to God for all He has done and will do.

When it came to share time, I did not think anyone would share their Psalm that they wrote (well I take that back, I knew some people would share, like my sweet and talkative hubby) but almost everyone in our group shared.. even little old nervous me, which was so awesome!  I loved hearing everyone's praises and they were all written so well with the little time we had.  I think the best thing about this activity is that the words were genuine and from the heart, and lets be real -- that is all God wants!

So, all in all Bible study was a success tonight and I give great props to our leaders for coming up with this great opening activity.  It definitely set the mood for the rest of the night and I loved it. :)

My challenge to you (Fellow blog readers)... Write your own Psalm to God.  Express your love, gratitude and praises to Him.  It does not have to be anything elaborate... Jesus just wants to hear from you! In the end, I promise you will love it and the reflection/journaling time is good for the soul!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Oh, and have a wonderful Spring Break! Mine is filled with very minimal plans (relaxation is at the top of my list)... other than studying for my certification test that is.

Lord, thank you for the opportunity of being able to reflect and expose my heart and the thankfulness and love I have for You.  It was a wonderful way to end the weekend... praising Your name!

Truth.

My God is always present.  He never leaves my side.  He walks with me daily.  He Loves me no matter what. He does not judge.  He knows my hearts desires even when I do not.  These are some of the things I love the most about my God.  Sometimes, it is hard for me to believe that even through all my sin, worry, and little faith at times God loves me no matter what... is that not an incredible thing?! Seriously, without God's Grace I do not know where I would be.

This morning, I was reading the Jesus Calling Devotional and this is what I read:
"I am constantly communicating with you. To find Me and hear My voice, you must seek Me above all else. When you are determined to get your own way, you blot Me out of your consciousness. Instead of single-mindedly pursuing some goal, talk with Me about it. Let the Light of My Presence shine on this pursuit, so that you can see it from My perspective. If the goal fits into My plans for you, I will help you reach it. If it is contrary to My will for you, I will gradually change the desire of your heart. Seek Me first and foremost; then the rest of your life will fall into place, piece by piece."

I definitely needed to read this entry this morning and be reminded of this Truth. God knows the plans for our lives better than we ever will. Trust and Obey Him.  That last sentence is sometimes so hard for me to do... TRUST and OBEY.  It is scary and full of risks, but I have to remind myself daily Jesus only wants what is best for me... that only brings happiness to my heart not fear.
This devotion just brings me extreme peace and comfort. Especially with all the things I have been in prayer for in life lately.  I need to constantly remind myself that the Lord is always with me and desires only what is best for me. When I rest in that truth I feel that all the pieces of life will slowly fall into place.

"Thank you Lord for taking care of me daily and wanting what is best for me.  Help me to rely on You alone and listen and follow the plans You have for my life."

Rampage!

Hockey anyone??  Tonight we got to see our very first Rampage Hockey game of the season.  I had never been to a hockey game before and Reagan had when he was little... so it was nice to have the experience together and do something different for our date night!

Let me tell you though, those hockey fans are intense!  They were screaming and chanting all night long.  The game was fun, but I will never be as intense as some of the fans we sat by.  To each their own :) I was secretly hoping for a fight to break out on the ice... that could have definitely gotten a few loud and obnoxious cheers from me and the hubs!! ;)

We enjoyed spending time with each other tonight and that is all that counts! We can now say we have been to a hockey game together and enjoyed it! Thank you to my sweet student for giving me the tickets as a gift... great date night with my hubby!  Beyond grateful for sweet students and their wonderful parents! :)

We ended the night coming home and watching The Voice since Reagan was out of town on Monday night (it's one of our new favorite TV shows) -- way better than American Idol in our opinion!  Now, Saturday Night Live is currently on and my husband is laughing uncontrollably... just love that man and his contagious laugh!

Goodnight to all! Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday.

Tonight when I asked for a picture my sweet hubs sighed  smiled, and took a great pic to document the night. Deep down, he knows I am trying to get better at documenting all the new and fun things we are doing together so he lovingly goes along with me and my picture craziness! Love that man and how much he loves me!!

Go Spurs Go!

Reagan and I started the weekend out great last night!  It was so nice to have a night out with him since he has been gone so much lately... WORK. STOP CONSUMING His LIFE! Ok thanks.
Any who, my mom and dad invited us to go with them to the Spurs game last night since we have not been to a game this season! We jumped at the opportunity and had incredible seats! We were sitting in company seats that my dad does a lot of business with and we were 7 rows up from the floor.  The seats were amazing and I felt like we were in the game.  Literally.  I have never had seats that good... and I could see everything so that was definitely a bonus too!

It was so much fun to just have a relaxed night with my parents and cheer on our fellow Spurs!  They played great last night and that was a definite plus!  Oh... and to top off the night.  We had an amazing Spurs fan sitting in front of us!  He was a hoot the whole night and kept making off the wall comments about the other team and their crummy players.  He had us all rolling in laughter-- it was like he had practiced the lines he was yelling out to the other team... and he was sober might I add.  Gave a different flare to the game and definitely had us laughing and cheering even louder when our Spurs made incredible plays!

Love going to sporting events with my man.  It is just fun and definitely a change of scenery for our Friday nights!  Tonight we are headed to our first Rampage game ever.  I am not big on hockey, but we heard the games are a blast and one of my sweet students gave me the tickets!  So, here is to new experiences, lots of laughs, and having another fun night with my man!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and enjoying this incredible weather we are having.. at least in Texas!

Enjoy your loved ones and make sure you laugh this weekend :)

My and my sweet hubby at the Spurs game! We had an incredible time! Such a fun way to spend a Friday night!!
